Antonietta Avagnano ''Toni'' Schwerdtfeger, 70, of Henrico died Sunday, March 6, 2011, at MCV Hospitals in Richmond, VA.

Antonietta was a native of Waldwick, NJ, the daughter of the late Alessandro Avagnano and Theresa DeMatto Avagnano. She was a member of the Lake Gaston Wildwood Fire Department Ladies’ Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond Douglas Schwerdtfeger; three sons, Raymond Schwerdtfeger, Jr. and his wife, Fran, of Wayne, NJ, Christopher Schwerdtfeger and his wife, Debbie, of Milford, PA, and Stephen Schwerdtfeger and his wife, Cheryl, of Vernon, NJ; seven grandchildren; her sister, Louise MastroDanto and her husband, Angelo, of Boydton Beach, FL; and her brother, Ralph Avagnano and his wife, Pat, of Cape Coral, FL.

Askew Funeral & Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids is handling the arrangements, where the family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 9, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.
